Introducing PEI: a superior thermoplastic

Polyetherimide (PEI) is a leading engineering thermoplastic recognized for its outstanding properties, and when made from Sabic Innovative Plastic's ULTEM™ 1010 and 9085 resins, it reaches the pinnacle of performance. It combines exceptional strength, thermal stability, and bio-compatibility to cater to demanding industries such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics.

PEI 1010: top-tier performance

PEI 1010 is known for its excellent thermal properties with a glass transition temperature of approximately 215°C. This material exhibits remarkable strength and dimensional stability along with being inherently flame retardant. Its strong resistance to a wide range of chemicals makes it ideal for challenging applications that require reliability and durability.

Ideal print settings for PEI 1010

To maximize the benefits of PEI 1010 in your projects, it's crucial to utilize recommended print settings. An extruder temperature of 375°C coupled with a bed temperature above 160°C ensures optimal results. A well-prepared printing surface with PC or PEI sheet and maintaining a print speed of 30mm/s also enhances printing efficiency.

PEI 9085: simplified yet robust

PEI 9085 offers similar attributes to PEI 1010 but at a slightly lower melt temperature, simplifying the printing process. With a glass transition temperature around 185°C, this material provides strong thermal properties while maintaining excellent chemical resistance, strength, and flame retardance. It's an outstanding choice for demanding environments that need high-performance materials.

Applications suited for PEI filaments

The versatility of PEI filaments makes them perfect for electrical, automotive, and aerospace applications. They stand up to extreme conditions with ease, offering durability where needed most. Whether used in specialized components or complex assemblies, these materials provide engineers with the assurance of consistent performance under rigorous conditions.
